You can help children succeed by volunteering just one hour per week. The Jewish Coalition for Literacy (JCL) recruits, trains, places and supports volunteer reading partners in local public schools to read one-to-one with children. Students benefit from the interaction of a caring adult who wants to share the pleasures of reading, and volunteers expereince the thrill of helping a student enjoy learning.
Join JCL’s incredible team of volunteer reading partners are making a difference in so many children’s lives, giving them the opportunity to experience success.
JCL will hold an Information and Orientation Session for new and returning literacy volunteers on Wednesday, September 23rd at 9:30 AM at the JCC in Woodbridge.
Come hear JCL veteran reading partners share their experiences and consider participating in this exciting way of helping the world, one child at a time.
Give one hour once a week to help students and delight in seeing the child’s self-confidence in learning grow. Let's give kids the opportunity to succeed!
